Prof Vassiliadis is a senior Emergency Physician with over twenty years’ experience in a quaternary teaching hospital, providing high-acuity, patient-centred emergency care. He is recognised for expertise in managing complex, time-critical presentations and leading multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments. His clinical interests include airway management, trauma resuscitation, patient safety and critical care systems.
Prof Vassiliadis has pioneered the use of healthcare simulation in Emergency Medicine, strengthening clinical performance and team reliability, and also leads critical care education within the Northern Clinical School, shaping the next generation of emergency clinicians.
He holds the rank of Captain in the Royal Australian Navy and provides emergency medical expertise in humanitarian and operational settings. Prof Vassiliadis is known for clinically focused, compassionate and evidence-driven leadership across emergency medicine, education and military health.
