Dr Das has been a medical practitioner for 30 years and a specialist anaesthetist for over 20 years. He has specialist expertise in anaesthesia for paediatric craniofacial surgery, interventional radiology, and remote site anaesthesia. He regularly provides anaesthesia for both paediatric (including neonatal) and adult patients across all surgical specialties.
In private practice, he anaesthetises children across all specialties and adults undergoing cosmetic, ENT, ophthalmic, and dental procedures, as well as offering sedation for diagnostic interventions. He is also active in teaching, research, medicolegal work, and serves on the APAGBI Council. Dr Das has a longstanding interest in online education and training. He has served as the Co-director of MEPA course (Managing Emergencies in Paediatric Anaesthesia) simulation course and previously Education Editor for the research journal, Pediatric Anesthesia. Dr Das is also President-Elect for the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland (APAGBI).
