Dr Katherine Black is an Endocrine and General Surgeon, holding appointments at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Greenslopes Private Hospital. She completed her medical degree (MBBS) and a Bachelor of Science in Anatomical Science at the University of Queensland and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and an Associate Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (AFRACMA).

Dr Black undertook advanced endocrine surgical training in both Australia and the United Kingdom, including a senior clinical fellowship at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London. She has a strong academic profile as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and has contributed extensively to peer-reviewed surgical literature, particularly in endocrine and parathyroid surgery.

In addition to her clinical and academic roles, Dr Black is actively involved in professional leadership and governance, contributing to committees within the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Metro South Health, and the Australian and New Zealand Endocrine Surgeons.
