Dr. Geoffrey Holt is a renowned cardiologist who has dedicated his career to innovating and improving the practice of medicine in Australia and beyond. He is the founding cardiology partner of GenesisCare, a global healthcare provider with more than 5,000 employees worldwide, which is the largest provider of cancer services worldwide and the largest provider of cardiology services in Australia.

Dr Holt completed his FRACP in Queensland before undertaking four years of fellowship training in the USA, including two years at the acclaimed Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, Minnesota. There, he led the largest published study on airline pilot disability, which remains relevant to this day. He also specialized in percutaneous coronary intervention and electrophysiology.

Dr Holt has practiced more than three decades as a cardiologist. He served as Chairman of Cardiology and the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at the Wesley Hospital, one of the largest private hospitals in Australia. He was later elected to the Board of Directors of the Wesley Hospital, during which time he championed a focus on quality-of-care measures across all medical specialties. In his own practice, he was a driving force for outcome-based medicine and also co-developed the first cardiac-specific electronic medical record system used by a large cardiology group in Australia.

Dr Holt’s activities are now focused on clinical consulting with a particular interest in aviation medicine and the cardiovascular problems encountered by athletes. He is a renowned champion of quality of medicine initiatives and has advised public and private sector bodies on quality- and evidence-based medicine.
