Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd take the collection, delivery, storage and disposal of your information very seriously and is committed to protecting the privacy of all information provided to us. We understand our obligation to ensure the protection of information pertaining to individuals and/or groups as set out in the National Privacy Principals as found in the Privacy Act 1988, effective 21 December 2001.

We do not knowingly collect any sensitive personal information about you as our client; however, we routinely collect and hold sensitive personal information about your client, such as legal depositions, correspondence and  medical records. Handwritten electronic contemporaneous notes made during consultations with your client remain the property of the medical practitioner that Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd has engaged on your behalf.

Only those individuals deemed to require knowledge of any personal information received by Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd for the undertaking of services offered by Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd are allowed access to that information. Persons not deemed to be providing a service that Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd has been contracted to undertake are not allowed access to any personal information held by Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd.

All personal information is stored securely in a cloud based server and can be accessed only with the consent of the Directors and Operations Manager of Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd.

No personal information will be made available to any third parties without the consent of the individual and/or their legal representative. No personal information will be conveyed electronically from Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd via its website.

Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd may also collect non-personal information deemed to be in relation to a service we have undertaken on behalf of an individual and/or at the request of their legal representative. This information will be available to only those individuals contracted by Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd and deemed to require the knowledge of this information so as to carry out the service requested of Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd.

Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd will be entitled to retain a copy of all information it has been supplied for a limited period, which it alone deems to be necessary so that it will meet any legal requirements.

No owner, employee or contractor of Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd will keep in their possession any personal information supplied to us for any period longer than the reasonable period necessary for the services contracted to Index Medicolegal Pty Ltd to be concluded.
