Dr Nguyen has been a Consultant Psychiatrist for more than 8 years. He has experience across private practice, public hospital psychiatry and multidisciplinary mental health services. Dr Nguyen’s clinical practice includes adult psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry and neuropsychiatry. Dr Nguyen has worked in a number of specialist psychiatry services including pain management, addiction services, early psychosis, older persons mental health and mobile intensive rehabilitation teams.
Dr Nguyen is a member of the Queensland General Medical Assessment Tribunal and is an experienced independent examiner who has provided independent medical reports and expert opinions for workers compensation, personal injury matters and the Mental Health Court.
Dr Nguyen has held leadership and representative roles within psychiatric training and medical organisations. He has attended additional medicolegal training through the ALA expert witness training and Barry Nilsson Health Law Course.
